The Division of Financial Affairs Implementation Steps

Following are the steps to be taken by the Division of Financial Affairs to facilitate unit implementation:

  • Develop baseline transaction data.
  • Deans and vice presidents agree on target staffing by organization.
  • Develop generic position descriptions and responsibilities.
  • Review processes and clearly identify accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Develop staffing metrics for centers.
  • Develop central finance staffing plan.
  • Develop service contract template between center and department, including performance expectations and metrics.
  • Update financial policies to incorporate new responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Develop central business service center operating plan for small units.
  • Develop service center training program.
  • Develop balanced scorecard measurements.
  • Begin mini-center and senior financial officer meetings.
  • Develop unit implementation schedule identifying major milestones.
