The Division of Financial Affairs Implementation Steps
Following are the steps to be taken by the Division of Financial Affairs to facilitate unit implementation:
- Develop baseline transaction data.
- Deans and vice presidents agree on target staffing by organization.
- Develop generic position descriptions and responsibilities.
- Review processes and clearly identify accountabilities and responsibilities.
- Develop staffing metrics for centers.
- Develop central finance staffing plan.
- Develop service contract template between center and department, including performance expectations and metrics.
- Update financial policies to incorporate new responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Develop central business service center operating plan for small units.
- Develop service center training program.
- Develop balanced scorecard measurements.
- Begin mini-center and senior financial officer meetings.
- Develop unit implementation schedule identifying major milestones.
